Some interesting Figures…………

  • £1.4 trillion of credit is circulating in the UK.
  • Britain’s personal debt is growing by £1 million every 4 minutes.
  • The Citizens Advice Bureau dealt with 1.4 million debt problems in 2006.
  • East Staffordshire CAB dealt with £7,774,553 of debt in 2004-2005.
  • It would take CAB clients an average of 77 years to pay back their debts.
  • 74% of couples find money the hardest topic to discuss.
  • 80% of 16-24 year olds admit to not knowing how to manage money.

It can be very liberating to feel like you are in control of your future.

Become a confident consumer and not a Victim.

  • A lot of the tips in this advice involve use of the internet.
  • You can use the internet for free for 1 hour at any library in East Staffordshire.
  • You can also get free help/classes on how to use the internet at any library.

1st things 1st—if you do not know how much money you have then you do not know how much you can spend.  Poor budgeting is the reason for a lot of people’s money worries.

Don’t be frightened by budgeting. It may not be as bad as you think.  And if it is bad news at least you can start to do something about it.
