Summary
An Electronic Kiosk has been purchased and placed at the Heart of Burton office and it will offer an email advice service to clients who may not be able/willing to access the core provision. It will also allow the Citizen’s Advice Bureau to extend its outreach work and provide increased case-worker provision (part time position of 20 hours per week) to Heart of Burton residents.
The New Service
The kiosk will provide an email advice service, which will be available during the opening hours of the Heart of Burton shop. Clients will receive an automated reply acknowledging their enquiry and receive an answer within 7 days. It is also envisaged that the additional case-worker will deliver out of office hour surgeries/drop ins at the Heart of Burton shop to reach further clients.
As well as offering the email advice service, the kiosk provides links to a range of local and national websites such as East Staffordshire Borough Council, CASES, Trent and Dove through to the DVLA and Job Centre Plus.
Within each page of the kiosk, there is a link to a survey; this will be used to gather some profile information about the clients and whether they have found it useful or not. Survey results will be gathered and analysed by Citizens Advice Bureau staff.
